Product Description
The very large 28″ planter uses the same classic design as our other very popular English Planters. The larger scale of this planter complements our Essex collection of large scale benches and chairs. The entire Essex line of benches and chairs have been designed to present a grand scale. Unlike any of our other styles, the Essex line is built of large 2 and 1/8″ dimensional lumber. The increased scale has also been employed in the overall dimensions of the planter. Like all of our furniture, this chair is made of shorea, a teak family wood that is more dense and heavy than teak. Shorea requires no finishing and will not rot when left outdoors where rain and sun will damage other lesser quality woods. Left untreated, shorea will weather to a soft warm shade of gray similar to the weathering of teak. Sturdy mortise and tenon construction provides the highest quality joinery that will last for many years. Original color can be maintained by applying a seasonal coat of teak oil.
